ASML ASML is an international organization. Each branch makes use of a communication system with an internal phone book in which can be searched and which is fed with information from a single Active Directory. However, the format of these internal directories varies per location or country. Some information fields are used differently, some numbers appear differently in each system. ASML therefore has multiple Active Directories in different parts of the world, each with its own layout diagrams. Challenge: How can we make and receive calls using our own internal phone book. Solution: Every AD domain has a virtual machine Hi-Way, which automatically retrieves data from that domain and offers these in a normalized way to a specially created LDAP directory. This way one LDAP is in use which is specially designed to optimally interact with the telephone system and wich contains telcom data from all other AD domains.
